Poullignac is located in the south of the historical province of Angoumois , about 30 kilometers south-southwest of Angoulême . Poullignac is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Bessac in the north, Deviat in the north and east, Saint-Martial in the south-east, Saint-Félix in the south and south-east, Sainte-Souline in the south, Berneuil in the west and south-west and Brie-sous-Barbezieux in the north-west.
