Saint-Martial is located in the south of the historic province of Angoumois , about 29 kilometers south-southwest of Angoulême . Saint-Martial is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Deviat in the north and north-west, Nonac in the north, Courgeac in the north and north-east, Montmoreau in the east and north-east, Montboyer in the south and south-east, Saint-Laurent-des-Combes in the south and south-west, Saint- Félix in the west and Poullignac in the northwest.
