The Spielothek-Cup 2002 was the 17th edition of the handball competition and was held on 23rd and 24th August 2002 in the East Westphalian cities of Lübbecke and Minden in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The TSV GWD Minden prevailed in the final with 24:23 (12:10) gates in the mill district derby against TuS N-Lübbecke through and won his third overall title. Third place went to HSG Nordhorn with 39:33 (22:19) against HSV Hamburg . Nordhorn's Jan Filip was the top scorer with 20 goals.

The prize money was at least 7,000  euros . 3,000 euros of this went to the winner TSV GWD Minden.

It was played with four teams in the knockout system with two semi-finals, the game for third place and the final. The playing time was 2 × 30 minutes. In the event of a tie after the end of normal playing time, there would have been an extension of 2 × 5 minutes. In the event of a tie after the extension has expired, a seven-meter throw.
