Hvozd (German Tiefenhain ) is a municipality with 154 inhabitants in the Czech Republic . It is located seven kilometers southwest of Rakovník and belongs to the Okres Rakovník . The municipality extends over an area of 367 ha.
geography
The village is located in the headwaters of the Tyterský creek 484 m above sea level. M. in the Rakonitz hill country. In the northwest rises the mountain Senecká hora (506 m).
Neighboring towns are Senec in the north, Pavlíkov in the east, Panoší Újezd in the south, Malinová in the west and Žďáry and Příčina in the north-west.
history
The first written record dates from 1352. The settlement is older, however, as evidenced by a prehistoric burial ground in the north of the village on which the church was later built. Between 1710 and 1712 the church was rebuilt in the Baroque style.

- Baroque church of John the Baptist, the formerly Gothic building received its present form in the years 1710–1712
- Stone cross on the church, erected in the middle of the 19th century
- A historical milestone made of sandstone and a cast iron cross on the road to Malinová at the crossroads with the old road to Rakovník
