La Broque (German: Vorbruck ) is a French commune in the Bas-Rhin department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Alsace ). The community lies in the valley of the Breusch in the area of the North Vosges .
During the German occupation of Alsace from August 1940 to November 1944, the Schirmeck-Vorbruck security camp existed on the outskirts of La Broque , which the German police authorities used as an "education camp " in the course of the " Germanization " of Alsace.
Between 1807 and 1871, La Broque was part of the Vosges department in the Lorraine region .
