With 8 character combinations in Mathews' Chinese-English Dictionary , it has a very low frequency.

The character 几 also occurs as a single character, for example in the word 茶几 (= tea table).
The radical character looks a little the Cyrillic characters Л "l" similar .
The Chinese abbreviation 几 (= almost, a few) actually has nothing to do with the radical 几, it was chosen completely arbitrarily as the shortened form for 幾 .
