Statistics / trivia
- The 2010/11 season was the first in which three Air & Style competitions were held (all three in the Big Air discipline). Thus a total prize money of € 225,000 was available for the season.
- The 16th Billabong Air & Style 2009 II was the 1st Air & Style competition that was not sold out. Even at the box office you couldn't get rid of all the tickets. However, this was due to the fact that many foreign offices ordered more cards than they could actually sell and returned the remaining cards too late. It is also worth mentioning that the winner Marco Grilc was a substitute driver who was allowed to step in due to injuries to several drivers.
- Stefan Gimpl is not only the only driver who has won the competition three times, he has also won it three times in a row. He also won all three competitions with basically the same maneuver (Cab 900).
- Kevin Pearce is the first Air & Style double season winner, he won the Straight Jump competition in Munich in December 2007 and the quarterpipe competition in February 2008 in Innsbruck.
- Although the organizer and inventor Andrew Hourmont comes from England , an English driver took part in the competition or was able to qualify (Jamie Nicholls) only in 2011.
- Reto Lamm , winner of the 1st Air & Style Contest, did not want to take part in the competition at first, but after consultation with friends, decided to change.
- Terje Håkonsen won the 1995 event despite provoking the jury with an indecent gesture to make it clear that he was dissatisfied with their attitude towards development in different styles.
- The first rider to win the competition with a trick he invented was Jim Rippey , who won the 1997 event with his Rippey Flip .
- Andrew Hourmont justifies the success of the event with the fact that the majority of the visitors (especially in Austria ) are snowboarders themselves and therefore appreciate the performance of the competing riders to a higher degree based on their own experience in the sport.
