Bizarre

Bizarro I

The first Bizarro was the failed attempt Lex Luthor , Superboy to clone . Bizarro made his first appearance in 1958 in Superboy # 68. The idea of the bizarre was developed by Otto Binder and George Papp .

Since Bizarro's “heroic deeds” were of a more destructive nature, he and a Bizarro-Lois moved to the planet Htrae (earth → English for “earth” read backwards, which indicates that everything is twisted here). All living beings on this planet were bizarro creations and looked like unsightly supermen and loise . Its only weakness is blue kryptonite . At first he seemed to have the normal abilities of a Kryptonian (just as the attempt to clone Superboy seemed to have worked at first), but then it turned out that he is a failed Superboy clone and that his powers are completely twisted too. Among other things, he had a cold look, a heat breath (instead of a heat look and ice breath). His alter ego was then also called Kent Clark (instead of Clark Kent like Superboy (I)).

There were also the following "Bizarro characters": Bizarro- "Perry White", Bizarro- "Jimmy Olsen", a Bizarro- "Justice League of America", a Bizarro- "Legion of superheroes" and even a Bizarro- " Ambush Bug ".

With the parallel earth crisis , Htrae disappeared . Since then, two new versions of Bizarro have been introduced into the DC universe.

The second bizarro and at the same time the first post-crisis bizarro had its first appearance in 1986 in Man of Steel # 5.

Similar in capabilities to the first Bizarro , the mistakes in the cloning process were fatal for the second Bizarro . He died at Lex Luther's Lexcorp company .

Bizarro III

The third Bizarro made its first appearance in Superman (Vol.2) # 160. history

The Society for Injustice was created by Agamemno in cooperation with Lex Luthor to destroy the Justice League of America . For this they have been promised dominion over the earth, because Agamemno hoped by destroying the JLA conquer the universe, or back conquest, in his view, as his father it had been up to his murder - the first intelligent beings in the universe.

Main weapon of the company was the "brain switch" (dt .: brain switches) , which allowed its members with whom to merge their ideas of the members of the Justice League and control them like that. To a certain extent, a “takeover of the spirit” took place, the members of the JLA were thus led to similar criminal thoughts and actions as the members of society for injustice.

Only when Green Lantern succeeds in ending this ghost takeover with a counter-weapon, the Absorbascon , can the fight against society begin again. However, this has an advantage at first, as its members know exactly about them through the temporary possession of the ghosts of their opponents. Only by assuming completely new hero identities and using Green Lantern's power ring can intimate knowledge be erased from the minds of the villains and society pushed back for injustice.

Council of the Owls

The Council of Owls (English Court of Owls) is an organization that has existed since Gotham City was founded. Its founders included Frederic Cobblepot, Edward Elliot, Burton Crowne and Alan Wayne (Bruce Wayne's great-grandfather). Since the beginning, the Council of Owls has been pulling the strings in the background, which is why only the rich and beautiful belonged to this council. Due to a dispute, Alan Wayne was expelled from the council, which is why the Wayne family has not been involved since then.

The Council of Owls has its own warriors called talons , a type of undead that can heal themselves quickly and are therefore difficult to kill. The first talon is William Cobb, the great grandfather of Dick Grayson (the first Robin). If everything went according to plan and Bruce Wayne hadn't adopted him, Dick Grayson would have become a Talon too.

The leader of the council was Lincoln March, who believed himself to be the dead brother "Thomas Wayne Jr." of Bruce Wayne, who tried to take over the Wayne empire and tried to kill his "brother". Even after his own research, Bruce Wayne could not determine 100% whether Lincoln March is his dead brother, as he disappeared in the final battle.

Companion figures

Alfred Pennyworth

Alfred Pennyworth is a companion character from the Batman comics. His full name is Alfred Thaddeus Crane Pennyworth . He made his first appearance in Batman # 16 in 1943 . It was created by Batman creator Bob Kane in collaboration with Jerry Robinson . Initially portrayed as an overweight man in his first appearances, the slim actor William Austin - who played Pennyworth in Batman and Robin (1943) - later served as an outward model for the character.

Alfred is the butler of Bruce Wayne (Batman) and one of the few people who knows about Bruce Wayne's double life as a nocturnal crime fighter. He is not only an employee, but also one of the few and probably one of the closest friends of Bruce . This also results from the fact that Alfred was already in the service of Bruce's parents and raised him after they were murdered (in older stories Bruce grew up with his uncle).

In the storyline of the animated series, Alfred also worked for the British secret service in his younger years, which would be an explanation for one or the other gadget of the "Dark Knight".

In "The Untold Legend Of Batman", however, Alfred only learns the secret when Robin brought the injured Batman out of the bath cave to get help from Alfred.

Alfred Pennyworth has made numerous appearances in various Batman adaptations. In the series adaptation Pennyworth he is the protagonist.

The beginning of his career is portrayed in the Gotham television series .

Doctor Arkham

Jeremiah Arkham is the former head of the Arkham Asylum Mental Hospital. For decades, Jeremiah Arkham was a minor character in the Batman universe that received little attention. This changed when Jeremiah slipped into the role of Black Mask . This happened because the Joker and Hugo Strange were able to influence the already unstable psyche of the doctor so negatively that he took on the role of Black Mask . The interesting thing is that Jeremiah Arkham created an alter ego or a split-off personality with Black Mask , so that Jeremiah Arkham knew nothing about Black Mask , but he always knew about his second personality and even described Arkham as weak.

The temporarily new Batman (Dick Grayson) grabbed Black Mask and unmasked him. Since then, Jeremiah Arkham has been in the Arkham Asylum himself.
