Dobříň (German Doberschin , older also Dobern , Dobren ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located four kilometers northeast of the city center of Roudnice nad Labem on the Elbe and belongs to the Okres Litoměřice .
geography
The village in the hollow of the Dobříňský potok is located on the left Elbe above Raudnitzer on the Elbe loop. The railway line between Roudnice nad Labem and Prague, where Dobříň has a train stop, runs south of the village. To the northeast are several sand pits and quarrying ponds and the Račice rowing channel .
Neighboring towns are Kyškovice in the north, Kozlovice in the northeast, Předonín in the east, Bechlín in the southeast, Kalešov and Bezděkov in the south, Roudnice nad Labem in the southwest and Vědomice and Zavadilka in the west.
history
Dobříň was first mentioned in 1295 in a document by Wenceslas II , who donated the place to the diocese of Prague . Over time, the village was also called Dobřeň and Dobřín, until the current name was determined in the 20th century.
The village belonged to the Raudnitz lordship, whose owners after the diocese u. a. Puta von Schwihau belonged to. In 1577 the rule was sold to Wilhelm von Rosenberg . Via his widow Polyxena von Lobkowicz , the place came to the Lobkowicz , who remained its owners until the abolition of patrimonial rule in 1848. In 1851 the railway was built from Prague to Dresden .
When the Elbe floods in 2002, Dobříň was partially flooded. Sand and gravel are extracted east of the village.
