The national ice hockey team from Hong Kong of the men is part of the Ice Hockey Federation of Hong Kong ( Hong Kong Ice Hockey Association ). The current trainer is Ng Ka-kin . After the 2017 World Cup , she is ranked 44th in the IIHF world rankings .

history

The Hong Kong national team first took part in an official tournament in 1987 when they competed at the D World Cup in Perth, Australia . There she lost all six games with a goal difference of 1: 185. The game against the Republic of China team, which was not rated, ended 2: 2.

After a twenty-year hiatus, Hong Kong took part in an official tournament of the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF for the first time in 2007 and came tenth out of eleven places at the Asian Winter Games . The following year, Hong Kong took part in the first-ever IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia and finished the tournament in third place. Also in the following years up to 2014 (except 2012) you took part in the competition, which you could win in 2011; In 2013 they finished second.

In 2014 , the national team took part in an ice hockey world championship for the first time. They played in Division III in Luxembourg and finished fourth there. Since then, the team has regularly participated in the World Cup Division III.
