Handball Bundesliga 2000/01

The handball Bundesliga 2001/02 was the 24th of the single-track seasons and the 36th season of the highest German division in men's handball in the history of the Bundesliga . The season began on September 8, 2001 and ended with the last game day on May 25, 2002.

18 teams played for the German championship. The first in the table on the last day of the match is German champions 2002. The new season's promoters were SV Post Schwerin and Frisch Auf Göppingen . In addition, the DHB Cup was played for the 28th time.

The German champion in 2002 was the THW Kiel team for the tenth time in the club's history .
