European Athletics Championships 2006 / Participant (Germany)

The German national team for the European Athletics Championships 2006 (July 7th to 13th in Gothenburg ) consisted of 77 athletes.

Initially nominated for the team by the German Athletics Association (DLV) were also the 100-meter runner Birgit Rockmeier ( LG Olympia Dortmund ), the 400-meter runner Jana Neubert ( LAC Erdgas Chemnitz ), long distance runner Alexander Lubina ( TV Wattenscheid 01 ), heptathlete Karin Ertl (LG Domspitzmich Regensburg) and shot putter Peter Sack ( LAZ Leipzig ). They were eliminated due to illness or injury a few days before the start of the European Championships.

Germany was not represented in the following competitions:

  • Men: marathon run, 3000 meter obstacle run, 400 meter hurdle run, 50 km walk, high jump, triple jump
  • Women: 1,500 meter run, triple jump
