Albania took part in the 1996 Summer Olympics in the US metropolis of Atlanta with seven athletes, four women and three men, in seven competitions in five sports.

It was Albania's third participation in the Summer Olympics since 1972 .

The track and field athlete Mirela Maniani-Tzelili carried the flag of Albania during the opening ceremony on July 19 at the Centennial Olympic Stadium .
