Pataš (1948–1990 Slovak "Pastúchy"; Hungarian Csilizpatas - until 1907 Patas ) is a municipality in southwest Slovakia with 780 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). It belongs to the Okres Dunajská Streda , part of the Trnavský kraj .

The municipality is located in the southern part of the Great Schüttinsel , part of the Slovak Danube lowlands . The canal Chotárny kanál and the canalized stream Čiližský potok run through the municipality.

The center of the village is at an altitude of 114  m nm and is 13 kilometers from Veľký Meder and 15 kilometers from Dunajská Streda .

In addition to the main town Pataš, the municipality also includes the southeastern settlement Milinovice (Hungarian Milénium ).

Neighboring municipalities are Vrakúň and Padáň in the north, Veľký Meder in the east, Čiližská Radvaň in the southeast, Baloň in the south and Gabčíkovo in the west.

history

The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1384 as pathos and at that time it was owned by the Kondé family .

The place in Raab County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary until 1919 , after which it became part of Czechoslovakia and is now in Slovakia. 1938-45 he was again in Hungary due to the First Vienna Arbitration .

According to the 2011 census, Pataš had 832 inhabitants, including:

  • 660 Magyars,
  • 93 Slovaks,
  • 72 Roma,
  • 4 Czechs and
  • 1 farmer.
