The Rohrsee area , also known as the "Rohrsee bird sanctuary" in older documents, is a nature reserve (NSG number 4.013) designated by ordinance of March 12, 1938 in the area of the city of Bad Wurzach in the Ravensburg district of Baden-Württemberg in Germany .
location
The approximately 110 hectare “Rohrsee” nature reserve is part of the Westallgäu hill country . It is at an average altitude of 667 m above sea level. NN , around six kilometers southwest of the city center of Bad Wurzach , between the districts of Rohrbach in the east and Rohr in the south and the Molpertshaus belonging to Wolfegg in the west. It surrounds the Rohrsee , which gives it its name , a still water body formed in a dead ice hole around 16,000 years ago at the end of the last cold period .
Protection purpose

Connection with other protected areas
