The 25th edition of the festival Italian Song Sanremo found in 1975 from February 27 to March 1 in an urban casino in Sanremo and was hosted by Mike Bongiorno with Sabina Ciuffini moderated.

After the previous year's edition, which was already marked by breakdowns, the Sanremo Festival in 1975 hit a low point, on the 25th anniversary of all things. The main reason was the record companies' lack of interest in the event after the organization (headed by Bruno Pallesi) had in a sense brought the rules back to the beginning: the (30 this year) songs were selected first and only in Afterwards the interpreters were assigned to them. But there were no well-known singers who were ready, which is why Pallesi had to rely almost entirely on newcomers. Mike Bongiorno returned as moderator , accompanied by Sabina Ciuffini . The Rai again only broadcast the finale on television, the first two evenings on the radio.

Of the participants, only Rosanna Fratello and Valentina Greco had Sanremo experience, both from the previous year. Besides, Angela Luce already had a certain name. Gilda, on the other hand, had tried to take part in the festival two years earlier, but was not allowed at the time. The decisions of the hall jury were also much criticized this year. In the final, the Rai broke off the television broadcast before the end, while Gilda and Ragazza del Sud won ahead of Angela Luce and Rosanna Fratello.
