Tévenon has been a municipality in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland since July 1, 2011 .
The former municipalities of Fontanezier (58 inhabitants, as of December 31, 2010), Romairon (32 inhabitants), Vaugondry (35 inhabitants) and Villars-Burquin (571 inhabitants) merged on July 1, 2011 to form the new municipality of Tévenon .
The name is derived from the field name En Tévenon for the range of hills on the southern slope of which the four communities are located.
The new municipality has the BFS number 5571.
geography
Tévenon is located on the southern slopes of the Vaud Jura high above Lake Neuchâtel and offers a great view of the Swiss plateau and the Alps. The municipality consists of the villages Fontanezier, Romairon, Vaugondry and Villars-Burquin as well as numerous individual farms on the Jura heights. The neighboring communities of Tévenon are Val-de-Travers ( NE ) in the north, Provence in the north-east, Bonvillars in the east, Champagne in the south - south-east , Fontaines-sur-Grandson in the south-west and Mauborget in the west .
