Later the names Suichie (1218), Souchie (1219), Sochy (1226), Suchie (1227), Suschie (1233), Suchiez (1270) and Suchye (1317) appeared. The place name ( derived from the Latin Solpiacum ) goes back to the Roman surname Sulpius .

Suchy belonged to the Grandson rule in the Middle Ages and came under the Belmont rule in 1367 . With the conquest of Vaud by Bern in 1536, the village came under the administration of the Bailiwick of Yverdon . After the collapse of the Ancien Régime , Suchy belonged to the canton of Léman from 1798 to 1803 during the Helvetic Republic, which then became part of the canton of Vaud when the mediation constitution came into force . In 1798 it was assigned to the Yverdon district.
