The Austrian Football Championship 1917/18 was organized by the Lower Austrian Football Association . Only teams from Vienna and the Vienna suburbs were eligible to participate . Clubs from the crown lands had no opportunity to participate in the championship. The ascent and descent were suspended during the war years .

General

The championship in 1st class was contested by 10 teams who met twice during the entire season. The Floridsdorfer AC celebrated his first and only this season Austrian championship . Behind them, the Rapid Vienna team was runner-up for the second time in the club's history. Due to the suspended relegation, the ASV Hertha team managed to stay in the top division for the third time in a row just for this reason.

    General

    In the second class A , which was again on a single track , 10 clubs played for the championship title, which, however, did not qualify for promotion to first class this season. The SC Donaustadt became champion and thus for the second time in a row the victim of the suspended promotion . SC Red Star Wien competed under the club name SC Rot-Stern Wien during the war years. The Jedlersdorfer SC , SC Movement X and the Ottakringer SC had to relegate from the second class this season . Exact results from this season as well as the placements from fourth place are no longer known.

    On!After relegation in the game year 1916/17, FKK Sturm managed to immediately rise again. The SC Ober-St. Veit was in second class A for the last time in the 1915/16 season.

    A championship of the German-Alpine Football Association (DAFV) was not held this season because of the First World War.

    Bohemia

    The German Football Association for Bohemia did not organize a championship. There was a Czechoslovak football championship in 1918 in Bohemia, especially in Prague, organized by the Český svaz footballový (ČSF).

    Moravia-Silesia

    The German Football Association for Moravia and Silesia did not have a championship this season.

    Poland

    The German Football Association for Poland did not have a championship this season.
