Ala (Hiiumaa)

Ala is a village ( Estonian küla ) in the rural municipality Hiiumaa (until 2017: rural municipality Pühalepa ). It is located on the second largest Estonian island Hiiumaa (German Dagö ).

Ala (German Alla ) has 26 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2011). The place is ten kilometers northeast of the island's capital Kärdla ( Kertel ).
From 1953 to 1986 the Rahu eest ("For Peace") kolkhoz existed in the village .
