church

In 1820 the small stone church of Paluküla was completed. The noble Baltic German family Ungern-Sternberg was responsible for the financing . The church should actually serve as the grave church of the sex; the plan was abandoned a short time later because of the high water table.

In the 19th and 20th centuries, the church also served as a navigation mark . In 1990 the historic spire was destroyed by fire.

In 1939 the church had to be handed over to the Red Army , which had established military bases in Estonia in the same year. From then on, the former church served as a storage room and observation point for the Soviet army.
