Kukka is a village ( Estonian küla ) in the rural municipality Hiiumaa (until 2017: rural municipality Pühalepa ). It is located on the second largest Estonian island Hiiumaa (German Dagö ).

Kukka has 11 residents (as of December 31, 2011). The place is seven kilometers southeast of the island's capital, Kärdla . The origins go back to the Wackendorf Kucku , which is recorded from 1565.

The summer house of the Estonian writer couple Paul-Eerik Rummo and Viiu Härm is located by the historic Kukka windmill .

Kukka stone

The Kukka Stone ( Kukka kivi ) is the fifth largest boulder in Estonia and the largest on Hiiumaa Island. The granite block has a volume of 324 m² above ground. It is 16.4 m long, 11 m wide and 3.7 m high. Its circumference is 42 m.

The entire area is strewn with stones, which gave the people of Hiiumaa material for numerous legends .
