Viita is a village ( Estonian küla ) in the rural municipality Hiiumaa (2013 to 2017: rural municipality Hiiu , before that rural municipality Kõrgessaare ) on the second largest Estonian island Hiiumaa (German Dagö ).

Description and history

Viita has four residents (as of December 31, 2011).

The place is located in the south of the Kõpu peninsula ( Kõpu poolsaar ). It was created in the middle of the 17th century. The name of the village probably comes from the male name Viidas . The relatively mild microclimate of the place allows good agriculture.
