Kiduspe is a village ( Estonian küla ) in the rural community Hiiumaa (2013 to 2017: rural community Hiiu , before that rural community Kõrgessaare ) on the second largest Estonian island Hiiumaa (German Dagö ).

Description and history

Kiduspe (German Kuduspäe ) has twelve inhabitants (as of December 31, 2011).

The place is located in the south of the Kõpu peninsula ( Kõpu poolsaar ), directly on the Baltic Sea with its sandy beaches.

Various archaeological finds indicate that the area was very populated. An underground cemetery with an area of 91 square meters was uncovered at Kiduspe. Human bones and parts of an iron sword were found in the oval graves.

Traditional agriculture has mostly been abandoned today. The fields are partially reforested. Like many villages in Hiiumaa, Kiduspe is also depopulated. The traditional thatched farms Punni and Saraldi are worth seeing . There is a prayer house of the Baptist congregation in the village .
