Tilga is a village ( Estonian küla ) in the rural municipality Hiiumaa (until 2017: rural municipality Emmaste ). It is located on the second largest Estonian island Hiiumaa (German Dagö ).

Tilga has 34 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2011). The place is six kilometers northeast of the village of Emmaste .

Tilga Protected Landscape Area

In 1998 the landscape protection area Tilga ( Tilga maastikukaitseala ) was created. It covers an area of ​​39.7 hectares.

The area serves to protect the pine population and rare plant species. Among other things, wild orchids , red forest birds , creeping reticulated leaves and avian birds grow there .
