Loja is a village ( Estonian küla ) in the rural municipality Hiiumaa (until 2017: rural municipality Pühalepa ). It is located on the second largest Estonian island Hiiumaa (German Dagö ).

Description and history

Loja has 5 residents (as of December 31, 2011). The place is nine kilometers southeast of the island's capital Kärdla .

Loja was originally a Beigut the manor of Suuremõisa ( Grossenhof ). The Hofland is listed in 1798 in the atlas of the German Baltic cartographer Ludwig August Mellin under the name Metsaloja ("Forest Loja").
