Anwar Kamilewitsch Ibragimow ( Russian Анвар Камилевич Ибрагимов ; born November 27, 1965 in Ufa , Russian SFSR ) is a former Russian foil fencer .

successes

Anwar Ibragimow won bronze at world championships in team competition in 1985 in Barcelona and silver in 1995 in The Hague . He took part in the Olympic Games twice: At the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul , he moved into the final against Germany with the Soviet team after victories against China in the quarter-finals and Hungary in the semi-finals , which they won 9: 5. Together with Wladimir Apziauri , Boris Korezki , İlqar Məmmədov and Alexander Romankow he became Olympic champion . In 1992 he finished fifth with the United Team in Barcelona .

Ibragimov fought for CSKA Moscow . He is married to the fencer Olga Velitschko .
