Apold also Apoldu din Sighișoara ( German  Trappold , Hungarian Apold ) is a municipality in the Mureș district in Transylvania , Romania .

The place should not be confused with Apoldu de Sus (Großpold) or Apoldu de Jos (Kleinpold) west of Hermannstadt .

Geographical location

Apold is a village 15 km southeast of Sighișoara (Schäßburg) and the seat of the municipality of the same name with the villages of Daia (Denndorf) , Șaeș (Schaas) and Vulcan (cloud village) .

There is an impressive fortified church in the center of the village of Apold . From 1898 to 1965 Apold had its own station on the narrow-gauge railway from Sighișoara to Agnita (Agnetheln) , the so-called Wusch .
