Cucerdea (outdated Cucerdea română ; Hungarian Oláhkocsárd or Kocsárd ) is a municipality in Mureș County in Transylvania , Romania .
The place is also known under the Hungarian name Románkocsárd .
Geographical location
The municipality of Cucerdea is located roughly in the center of the Transylvanian Basin . On the stream of the same name - a left tributary of the Sărata - and the national road ( Drum național ) DN 14A is the place about six kilometers south of the small town of Iernut ( Radnuten ); the district capital Târgu Mureş ( Neumarkt am Mieresch ) is located about 35 kilometers northeast of Cucerdea.
