Şincai [ ʃinkai ] (deprecated Şamşudul de Campie ; Hungarian Mezősámsond ) is a commune in Mureş County , in the region of Transylvania in Romania .

history
The place Șincai, founded by Szekler , was first mentioned in 1332. In the 17th century the Hungarian noble family settled several Romanian serf families here. Remains on the mountain, called Cetatea Păgânilor (Hungarian Pogányvárdomb ) , point to a settlement of the place in the Bronze Age , called Patul dulce (Hungarian Érdes ágy ) and dating back to the Neolithic Age . Several archaeological finds have been assigned to different ages.
In the Kingdom of Hungary , the municipality belonged to the Maros Felső (Ober-Maros) district in Maros-Torda County and then to the historical Mureș District and, from 1950, today's Mureș District.
