Aramil ( Russian Арами́ль ) is a city in Sverdlovsk Oblast ( Russia ) with 14,224 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).
geography
The city is located on the eastern edge of the Middle Urals , about 25 km southeast of the Oblast capital Yekaterinburg on the Isset , a left tributary of the Tobol in the Ob river system .
Aramil has been the capital of its own urban district since 1995.
The city is located on the Yekaterinburg - Kurgan railway line, opened in 1933 (train station 5 km from the city center) and at the eastern end of the southern freight bypass around Yekaterinburg, which went into operation in 1977. Yekaterinburg-Kolzowo Airport is located north of Aramil .
history
Aramil was founded in 1675 as a trading settlement (Sloboda) at the mouth of the river of the same name in the Isset. The name comes from the Tatar language and means, for example, a river (valley) with alluvial forests and meadows .
In 1966 the place received city rights.

In Aramil there is a cloth and a plastics factory as well as factories in the food industry.
