Economy and Infrastructure
The city-building company is the Reftinskaya GRES thermal power plant operated by OGK-5 . With an installed capacity of 3800 megawatts , it is the most powerful thermal power plant in Russia operated with solid fuels - hard coal from the Ekibastus basin in Kazakhstan . One of the power plant's chimneys is 330 meters high.
Another important company is Reftinskaja Ptizefabrika ("Reftinsk Poultry Factory") , which opened in 1982 as the largest poultry farm in the Ural region . The industrial area is located on the northern bank of the reservoir opposite the settlement.
Reftinski is the end point of a 14-kilometer electrified railway line that branches off from the Reft station on the eastern route from Nizhny Tagil or Serow via Alapayevsk to Bogdanowitsch on the Trans-Siberian Railway . There is a suburban train connection to Yekaterinburg via these routes . The direct connection in a south-westerly direction via asbestos is interrupted by opencast mines or is only used for goods and factory traffic.
There is a connection via asbestos to the R351 Yekaterinburg – Tyumen road . An unpaved road leads east to Sukhoi Log .
