Aue is a residential area in Oberodenthal in the municipality of Odenthal in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis .

Location and description

Aue is located in the so-called Helenental, a section of the Dhünntal , in the north of the municipality on the border with Wermelskirchen .

history

Until 1919 there were a few black powder mills in Aue and the surrounding area. At that time, Aue was part of the Odenthal mayor's office , which was created in 1816 by the Prussians from the Mairie Odenthal in the Mülheim am Rhein district. From the Prussian new admission of 1892, the place is regularly recorded on measuring table sheets as Aue or without a name. The street at the neighboring residential area Helenenthal was also referred to as in der Aue in 1926 , since then the name Aue has also been used for Helenenthal.
