The Dark Storm Festival is a music festival of the black scene that has been held annually between the years since 1997, and has been held on December 25th in the Chemnitz city hall since 2004 . The festival offers a cross-section of the various musical styles in the scene, divided into the secondary stage (with a focus on electronic dance music and electro ) and the main stage. Occasionally acts from the field of metal are also booked.
history
The first Dark Storm Festival took place on December 25, 1997 in Huxleys Neue Welt in Berlin and on December 26. in the Chemnitz power plant . Until 2008, the festival was held sporadically in several locations, in 2000 it took place on six consecutive days in six different cities, and between 2003 and 2007 it also made a guest appearance in Berlin . Since 2004, the Dark Storm Festival has found its permanent home in Chemnitz, where it has been taking place on Christmas Day in the town hall and, according to the spokeswoman for the town hall, “ with artists from the electronic, gothic and industrial scene (...) Christmas is a very special highlight ”.
