Harju is a village ( Estonian küla ) in the rural municipality Hiiumaa (until 2017: rural municipality Emmaste ). It is located on the second largest Estonian island Hiiumaa (German Dagö ), near the Baltic Sea coast .

Description and sights

Harju (German Harjo ) has 73 inhabitants today (as of December 31, 2011). It is 4 kilometers from the village of Emmaste .

The two historic post mills in town are well worth seeing . They are under monument protection. The Harju-Rätsepa mill was built in 1892 and the Nõmme mill in 1781.
