Maupertus-sur-Mer is located in the Val de Saire on the Cotentin peninsula and borders the English Channel in the north-west . The community is bordered to the northeast by Fermanville , to the east by Carneville , to the south by Gonneville-Le Theil and to the west by Bretteville .
