Gonneville-Le Theil is a French commune with 1,553 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the Manche department in the region of Normandy . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Cherbourg and the Canton of Val-de-Saire .

It was created with effect from January 1, 2016 as Commune nouvelle through the amalgamation of the former municipalities of Gonneville and Le Theil , which have the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative headquarters are in Gonneville.

Gonneville-Le Theil is about ten kilometers east of Cherbourg-en-Cotentin . The straight line distance to the coast of the English Channel is about four kilometers. Cherbourg-Maupertus Airport is located on the northern municipal boundary .
