Surtainville is a French commune with 1,180 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Manche in the region of Normandy . The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Cherbourg and the canton of Les Pieux .

Surtainville is located about 32 kilometers southwest of Cherbourg on the Atlantic coast on the western side of the Cotentin peninsula . Surtainville is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Le Rozel in the north, Pierreville in the north and northeast, Bricquebec-en-Cotentin in the east, Sénoville in the south and southeast and Baubigny in the south.
