Nordheim is a French commune with 887 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Bas-Rhin department in the Grand Est region ( Alsace until 2015 ). It belongs to the canton of Molsheim and is a member of the Communauté de communes de la Mossig et du Vignoble .
location
Nordheim is a good 20 kilometers northwest of Strasbourg in the Upper Rhine Plain on the eastern edge of the Vosges .
The Nordheim transmitter is located on the Stephansberg near Nordheim . The programs broadcast there can be received in parts of the German federal states of Saarland and Baden-Württemberg .
history
From 1871 until the end of the First World War , Nordheim belonged to the German Empire as part of the realm of Alsace-Lorraine and was assigned to the Molsheim district in the Lower Alsace district .
As of 2003, the municipality belonged to the Communauté de communes de la Porte du Vignoble , which had been founded nine years earlier and which in 2017 became part of the Communauté de communes de la Mossig et du Vignoble .

Personalities
- Johann David Börner (1762–1829), French general, spent his retirement in Nordheim and died here.
- Gregor Rippel (1681–1729), theologian and clergyman, worked as a pastor in Nordheim.
