Scott Brown (born June 25, 1985 in Dunfermline ) is a Scottish football player . Since 2007 he has been playing for the Scottish football club Celtic Glasgow.

Career

Scott Brown began his professional career in Edinburgh with the Hibs , as the club is called in Scotland, and finished seventh in the Scottish Premier League with the team in its first season . In the following season Brown placed with the Hibs in 8th place and reached the final of the Scottish Cup with Hibernian , but lost to the Rangers. In the 2004/05 season, the midfielder was able to establish himself in the regular squad of the Hibs and scored one goal in 20 games. With third place behind Celtic and the Rangers, Edinburgh had a convincing season. In the following two years Scott Brown rose to one of the most important players of the club, in the 2006/07 season he scored five goals in 30 games. In mid-May 2007, his transfer from Hibernian Edinburgh to Celtic was announced. Brown signed a five-year deal with the Celts and was the most expensive purchase of the 2007-08 season in Scotland, with a transfer fee of £ 4.4million. At the same time, it is the most expensive transfer that has ever been made within Scotland.

National team

Scott Brown made his debut for the Scottish national football team on November 12, 2005 in a friendly against the USA. He was substituted on for Nigel Quashie in the 73rd minute . On September 5, 2006, he scored his first goal for the Scots in the World Cup qualifier against Macedonia. In August 2016, Brown announced his retirement from the national team. Two months later, he withdrew his mind. Brown has not been invited to the national team since then.
