The Scottish Football League First Division was played under this name for the 20th time in 1994/95 as only the second highest Scottish league . In the second-highest division of men's football in Scotland , 10 clubs competed against each other in a total of 36 matchdays in the 1994/95 season. Each team played four times against each other team. In the event of a tie, the goal difference counted .

It was the first season in which the 3-point rule applied. The championship won the Raith Rovers , which also secured participation in the 1995/96 Premier Division season . Dunfermline Athletic failed as runner-up in the promotion relegation against FC Aberdeen . Ayr United and FC Stranraer had to relegate to the Second Division . The top scorer with 20 goals was Peter Duffield of Hamilton Academical .
