The Segunda División 1969/70 was the 39th season of the second highest Spanish football league . It began on September 7, 1969 and ended on June 7, 1970. Between June 28 and July 5, 1970, the relegation games were played. Champion Real Gijon .

Before the season

The 20 teams met twice on 38 match days. The three best teams rose to the Primera División .

The last four clubs were relegated directly, the teams in places 13 to 16 had to fight relegation against relegation.

Relegated from the Primera División took CD Málaga , Español Barcelona and Córdoba CF in part. From the Tercera División came Bilbao Atlético , CD Castellón , CD Ourense , CA Osasuna , UD Salamanca and UE Sant Andreu .
