The Ski Jumping World Cup 1990/91 (official name: FIS Ski Jumping World Cup 1990/91 ) was one of the International Ski Federation FIS between 1 December 1990 and 31 March 1991 discharged at 18 locations in Europe, North America and Asia series of competitions in ski jumping . Originally 26 individual competitions were planned. Four competitions had to be canceled without replacement, so that 22 individual competitions were included in the rating. For the first time this season, a ski flying discipline was held. Austria's Andreas Felder won the overall standings this season , followed by Swiss Stephan Zünd in second and third place and the German Dieter Thoma . The Finnish defending champion Ari-Pekka Nikkola finished fifth. Zünd won the ski flying ranking ahead of Austrian Stefan Horngacher and German Ralph Gebstedt . As in the previous year, Austria won the Nations Cup ahead of the teams from Germany and Finland .
Changes to the regulations
Due to the ever growing field of starters, a qualification for every World Cup competition has been held since this season . In the future, only 50 jumpers will compete in the first round.
