Sportsman of the year 1973 (Germany)
The athletes of the year 1973 in the Federal Republic of Germany were honored on December 20th in the Kurhaus Baden-Baden . The election was organized for the 27th time by the Internationale Sport-Korrespondenz (ISK). 628 sports journalists participated in the voting. As in the previous year, the javelin thrower Klaus Wolfermann received the most votes. After Gottfried von Cramm ( 1947 and 1948 ), Hans Günter Winkler ( 1955 and 1956 ), Gerhard Hetz ( 1962 and 1963 ) and Hans Fassnacht ( 1969 , 1970 and 1971 ), he was the fifth athlete to receive this honor for the second time in a row received.
A special honor was given to the British four-wheeler ( Bennett , Evans , Hallam and Moore ) and his trainer Norman Sheil , who were honored as guests of honor for their fair behavior at the World Railroad Championships .
