The Stadio del Trampolino , which means something like Schanzenstadion in German , is a ski jumping facility in the Piedmontese municipality of Pragelato .
history
The history of the plant is still a short one. In 2003 construction began for the 2006 Winter Olympics , in 2004 the ski jumping hills were completed, and in 2005 the infrastructure was completed. 5 ski jumps were built in the 400-strong community, they serve as a training center for the Italian ski association. All jumps are covered with plastic mattings.
The first World Cup event took place on February 11 and 12, 2005. The individual competition under floodlights was won by the Finn Matti Hautamäki , the team competition the day after was won by the Austrian team.
In the 2008/09 season there was another World Cup weekend on the hill. The first individual competition on December 13th, 2008 won the Swiss Simon Ammann , who also set the hill record of 144 m in this competition. The day before he had already jumped 145 m in qualification, but put his hands in the snow, which is why the jump was not recognized as a hill record.
In August 2009 the ski jumps were closed. They were put back into operation in summer 2013.
