T in the Park 2013 was a three day music festival held from July 11, 2013 to July 14, 2013 in Balado , Kinross , Scotland . It was the 20th anniversary of this event. Rihanna and Mumford & Sons were announced as first and second headliners on December 4th, 2012. The appearances of Jake Bugg , Alt-J , Of Monsters and Men , The Script and Paloma Faith also became public on the same day. On December 5, 2012, The Killers were announced as the third headliner, along with performances by Two Door Cinema Club and Azealia Banks . On December 13, it was announced that Emeli Sandé would be back on stage for the twentieth anniversary. On February 13, 2013, the appearance of the German electro pop band Kraftwerk was confirmed.

Similar to previous years, early bird tickets were offered a few days after the end of the T in the Park 2012 event ; sales began on August 13, 2012 and ran until the following Sunday. A second tranche of the cards was offered on December 7th from 9 a.m. The third and final stage of sales began in February 2013 along with the announcement of the program and contributors.

Incidents
The number of arrests was 91, a sharp increase over the previous year when there were just 30 arrests. Five people were arrested for using pyrotechnics .
The police warned all festival visitors against buying so-called green ecstasy pills (green ecstasy pills ), since 17 users died between April and July 2013 after consuming them.
Police Supt Rick Dunkerley, Police Scotland , said: “While arrests have increased from last year, this is a result of the proactive efforts of our police officers who have worked closely with the stewards to ensure it was a safe and fun event for us the audience will. The fact that there was no evidence of counterfeit ecstasy tablets at the event is partly due to the extensive preparatory work that was carried out in collaboration with the organizers prior to the festival. "
