T in the Park 2012 was a three day music festival held from July 6th 2012 to July 8th 2012 in Balado , Kinross , Scotland . The Stone Roses was announced as the first headliner on November 8th, 2011 for Saturday, July 7th, 2012. Snow Patrol and Kasabian were also confirmed later, also as headliners on Friday July 6th and Sunday July 8th, respectively. This year it was the first time that the same number of visitors attended all three days of the festival after the city council approved a proposal to increase the number of visitors by 10,000 on Friday. This approval meant that 85,000 visitors ultimately attended the festival.

tickets

Similar to previous years, early bird tickets were offered within a few days after the T in the Park 2011 festival ended . Tickets were on sale from July 12, 2011 until the following Sunday. The second batch of tickets were available on December 2nd, 2011 from 9 a.m. and were sold out within a few hours. The final sale of the tickets began on February 29, 2012 at 9 a.m. The very last tickets were sold during the last few days before the festival.

Program and contributors

After The Stone Roses was announced as the first headliner on November 8, 2011, 9 participants were announced via the official T in the Park - Twitter account on February 21, 2012, one week before the final sales start of the tickets . These were Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds , Florence + the Machine , The Maccabees , The Horrors , Miles Kane , The Vaccines , Maverick Saber , Frank Turner and Two Door Cinema Club . Another announcement made on February 23rd featured the two remaining headliners, Snow Patrol and Kasabian. Other acts became known around the same time: Jessie J , David Guetta , Kaiser Chiefs , The Darkness , Calvin Harris , Skrillex and Elbow . Swedish House Mafia also joined the program, making it their last appearance in Scotland before they split up. As usual with T in the Park , the closer the festival got to the more performers. On April 23rd, the Line-UP poster was updated to reveal some new additions such as Hilltop Hoods and Fun . However, Mastodon was no longer on the program, which led to speculation about the cancellation of her performance, which was confirmed a day later. Keane joined on April 27th and Sub Focus on May 1st . By May 1, 2012, a total of 110 acts had been announced, in contrast to the 171 from the T in the Park 2011 lineup.
