Thiele was created through a weakening of the neighboring syllables from the name Thielo , which arose through contraction from the nickname Thietilo . This is a form of the name Dietrich or Diethart , which can be traced back to Old High German 'diot' for 'people' or Old Saxon 'thiod', 'thiad' for 'gender', 'nobility' with a diminution of the suffix '-ilo' .
