Thierry claveyrolate

Thierry Claveyrolat (born March 31, 1959 in La Tronche , Département Isère , † September 7, 1999 in Vizille near Grenoble ) was a French cyclist and was considered a climbing specialist, which earned him the nickname Adler von Vizille .

Thierry Claveyrolat was a seven-time participant in the Tour de France and in 1990 won the jersey of the best climber for Team RMO . His best placement there was 17th overall in 1986 .

As part of a trial against 19 racing drivers from the north of France in Laon in October 1986, Claveyrolat admitted the prohibited use of amphetamines.

On September 7, 1999, he committed suicide in Vizille near Grenoble at the age of 40 after being involved in a car accident with four seriously injured four weeks earlier. He had previously suffered from severe depression.
