Walter Engel (referee)
Walter Engel (born May 15, 1939 ) is a former German football referee .
Engel, who comes from Reimsbach , has acted as referee since 1957. In 1969 he made the jump on the DFB list. From 1969 to 1983 he headed a total of 100 games in the first division and, from the start of the second division in 1974 to his resignation in 1983, a total of 54 second division games. At the end of his career, Engel was entrusted with the management of the DFB Cup final in 1983 .
